Issues we face on a daily basis

Being a cook has had its trials and tribulations, but being a man in the home kitchen leads to a whole different experience. I started cooking at a young age, not sure but can remember standing on a little red stool
in my Nana's kitchen helping her. In those days the home kitchen was the domain of the women. As I reached the age to work in the fields of the family farm, I left the kitchen, not to return until after working in factories, gas stations, a short term restaurant stint, on a ranch as farm manager, and 20 years as a Ironworker and welder.
It was in college (I returned to school at 43) that I found a cable network with a Chef that really caught my attention, Bam he would go, to wake you up. This is a prelude to my story and experiences. What will follow is how I have gotten to this point and what rewards and setbacks to cooking daily for the family and how society still frowns on men in the home kitchen.
